Vtec were delighted to have London Brick Wall Panels specified in the design for Tealby’s, a brand new café at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. The café takes its name after Mary Tealby, an English animal welfare campaigner who founded Battersea back in 1860, so it’s an important addition to the Battersea estate.
Situated in one of the arches, the café is a beautiful space with vaulted ceilings. London Brick panels (part of our Texture range) have superb natural textures and features to help create real atmosphere, making it a space where people want to relax and spend time. A mix of London Brick Multi and London Brick White create a fresh and modern design with a natural feel.
London Brick wall panels are produced from original walls and they contain in excess of 50% natural pigments, oxides and minerals. They are lightweight enough to be used almost on any type of structure, as well as being strong and highly durable so they are perfect for high-traffic areas like cafes, offices and social spaces.
In this project, Vtec Texture Panels were installed either side of the Arches, mounted on false walls so that rail services could still run their essential services behind without any interference. The large panel size achieved wall coverage quickly and easily with concealed joints for a seamless finish.
Installation was quick and simple. We worked with the installers to incorporate removable panels providing access to the void behind for servicing. Battersea’s branding is bright orange and blue, so seat pads and upholstery in matching fabrics tied in nicely and complemented the natural tones of the wooden furniture of varying heights. This helped to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, which London Brick Multi and London Brick White complemented perfectly.
