SOLID TIMBER: For projects that require a Solid Timber finish, we can produce the slats out of beautiful solid timber in many different species so the finish can match with other surfaces, as required.
SUPALAMI: Applied to the face of the slats with matching edging, this laminate provides you with a great-looking finish without the cost of solid timber veneer. Available in a variety of finishes, including Woods and Solid Colours.
SUPACOLOUR: Matched to almost any colour, our spray paint finish gives you the ability to have your slats in almost any colour. We typically work to colour references such as RAL and NCS and spray in matt, satin or high gloss onto our factory-applied base layer.
DRIFTWOOD: When a project requires a rustic weathered effect finish, we can produce the slats out of solid timber with a lovely distressed finish. We produce these in various colours, including, white, whitewashed, and clear lacquer.
CAN SUPASLAT WORK WITH LIGHTING AND OTHER ELEMENTS?
Yes, SupaSlat is very flexible and we can work with you to incorporate specific requirements such as lighting, heating & ventilation, fire detectors & sprinklers and CCTV requirements. CAN SUPASLAT INCORPORATE ACCESS REQUIREMENTS?
Yes, SupaSlat is very flexible and we can work with you to incorporate specific access requirements in both walls and ceiling, such as doorways and access hatches. We’ve collaborated on a range of projects with particular access challenges and incorporated bespoke solutions into the specification.

HOW MANY SUPASLAT PANELS DO I NEED?

WHAT ARE SUPASLAT PANELS MADE FROM?
The slats are either high-quality natural timber or MDF with a laminate-type decorative face. A premium-grade black acoustic backing is directly behind the slats. On the rear of the panel are MDF cross battens, which hold the slats and acoustic backing together.
ARE SUPASLAT PANELS FIRE-RESISTANT?
Standard grade panels are not, so if you have an FR requirement we can produce in FR grade to Class 1 or Class 0 standard. Please contact us to find out more about the combinations and options available.

No, we are not restrictive and provide detailed instructions to the installer for them to follow.
ARE SUPASLAT PANELS QUICK AND EASY TO INSTALL?
Yes, we’ve designed our SupaSlat modules to be simply and rapidly installed – with standard methods being either Screw Fix or Lift and Shift (installed entirely from beneath the ceiling line).
WHAT ARE THE SUPASLAT INSTALLATION OPTIONS?
Our SupaSlat modules are installed by the below different methods:
Ceiling Installation:
SCREW FIX: Modules can be either concealed/ discreetly fixed or visibly fixed for removability with a screwdriver. SupaSlat modules can be fixed to a variety of substrates/support work systems (e.g. Unistrut or MF top hats).
LIFT AND SHIFT: Modules simply engage into a T-24 exposed ceiling grid from beneath, to enable easy access to the entire ceiling.
Wall Installation:
SCREW FIX: Modules can be either concealed/ discreetly fixed or visibly fixed for removability with a screwdriver. SupaSlat modules can be fixed to a variety of substrates / Timber Battens/support work systems (e.g. Unistrut or MF top hats).
SECRET FIX: Modules can be secretly fixed with timber split battens, aluminium Zs or aluminium hockey sticks.

IS THERE ANY ON-SITE CUTTING REQUIRED?
No. Our SupaSlat systems are supplied fully finished to avoid on-site cutting and finishing. They will be delivered ready to fit, with full installation instructions.
CAN SUPASLAT PANELS BE USED IN WETROOMS?
We do not advise direct exposure to water, but they can be used as decorative features in changing areas, spa rooms etc with some precautions.
CAN SUPASLAT PANELS BE USED AS HANGING BAFFLES OR SUSPENDED RAFTS?
Yes, they can. Please discuss these applications with our Technical Department for advice.
DO SUPASLAT PANELS REQUIRE ANY MAINTENANCE?
They are virtually maintenance-free but can benefit from dusting or vacuuming with a soft brush attachment if you wish. Do not clean the panels with a damp cloth.

We use 12mm thick MDF as the standard core material. However, dependent on the requirements, different core materials, colours and thicknesses can be used. Please speak to our Technical department.

WHAT ARE SUPACOUSTIC PANELS MADE FROM?
We use high-quality, responsibly-sourced medium density MDF as a minimum specification in a variety of grades including Moisture or Fire Resistant and also through-coloured for the panel core. The decorative face of the panel is typically Natural Timber Veneer, a Lacquered Finish (matched to RAL colours) or a laminate finish. The panels are then backed with acoustic fabric backing. ARE SUPACOUSTIC PANELS QUICK TO INSTALL?
Yes! We aim to supply your project in a systematic manner that eliminates on-site cutting of panels. Installation kits with pre-cut components can be supplied if needed, which further speeds up installation. Wherever you install, the result is that your interior is up and functioning very quickly.
HOW ARE SUPACOUSTIC PANELS INSTALLED?
Vtec’s Installation Kits enable simple screw fastening and secret fastener locations where desired. We provide detailed instructions to the installer. Please refer to our Installation Instructions for full details.
ARE SUPACOUSTIC PANELS EASY TO CUT?
Yes, although we prefer to supply pre-cut panels as this makes it even easier for installers. Should cutting on-site be preferable, this can be done using routine methods including by handsaw, jigsaw/circular saw or table saw. However, care must be taken to avoid damage or marking to the decorative surface.

MicroSlat is a modular slatted system for walls and ceilings that is easy and quick to install. As well as looking great, there are a range of beautiful finishes to choose from (including FR options) and acoustic benefits.
MicroSlat panels are lightweight, designed to be simple to handle and easy to cut to shape and size on-site by one person. Standard panel sizes of 2400 x 600 or 3000 x 600 (mm) mean increased coverage and fewer joints – excellent results for projects that want the feel of quality and visual appeal of real wood but without the cost.

WHAT IS MICROSLAT?

WHAT IS THE SLAT CORE COLOUR?

IS MICROSLAT AVAILABLE IN FR GRADE?
Yes. MicroSlat is available in Standard Grade (Non-FR) or FR Grade (Euroclass B) Materials. Please check sizes for your required option.
DOES MICROSLAT PROVIDE ACOUSTIC BENEFITS?
Yes. MicroSlat panels are backed with Acoustic Backing Board (nominal 9mm thick in Budapest Black, 12mm thick in all other colours) to help absorb unwanted reverberation. Acoustic Absorption varies according to absorbing material, slat sizes, slat spacings and slat depths.
For improved acoustic performance, create an air gap behind the panel, and for further improvement adds Rockwool insulation. Please speak to our Technical team for details and acoustic test data.
WHAT COLOUR IS THE ACOUSTIC BACKING?

MaxiBeam is approximately 50% lighter than solid oak beams, providing the elegance of heavy-duty timber beams without the hassle of working with solid timber. Each beam is light enough to be carried by a single person, ranging from 2-6kg.

HOW EASY / QUICK IS MAXIBEAM SOFT TO INSTALL?
Our MaxiBeam Soft system is designed for quick and easy installation – with either a fixing cleat, screw from the rear or click-fix.
It is supplied as individual beams, fully finished to avoid on-site cutting, which is then discreetly installed. Beams can be installed so they are removable if required. The MaxiBeam Soft system can be fastened to almost any type of common substrate.

DOES MAXIBEAM SOFT PROVIDE ACOUSTIC BENEFITS?
Yes. MaxiBeam Soft is frequently installed under a perforated Supacoustic ceiling or Acoustic Backing Board (nominal 10mm thick black absorber) to achieve acoustic absorption. Acoustic Absorption varies according to absorbing material, centres, beam height and void depth. Please speak to our Technical team for details and acoustic test data.
IS MAXIBEAM SOFT FIRE RESISTANT?
MaxiBeam Soft is available in either Standard Grade (non-FR) or FR Grade (Euroclass B).
