At Vtec, we continue to strive for a more sustainable environment in all areas of our operations. This is how we approach product development to meet the sustainability goals of the projects in which we are participating, as well as the objectives of our clients and employees.
Vtec Group’s sustainability goals are to limit the use of non-renewable resources, eliminate waste, and create healthy, productive settings that encourage well-being. We believe in prioritising the purchasing of raw materials and goods from suppliers who employ ecologically friendly manufacturing practices and sources.
We want to provide our clients with projects that use sustainable design to reduce negative effects on the environment, as well as the health and comfort of building occupants, consequently enhancing building performance.
We are proud to have worked on projects that have been awarded BREEAM Excellent Status, LEED – Silver, and 3 Star Fitwel certifications.
We recognise how critical it is to support cleaner and greener architectural solutions and have made it easy to specify more sustainable materials in your specification choices.
We are FSC® certified (FSC® C160047)
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is a global, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management worldwide. FSC® defines standards based on agreed principles for responsible forest stewardship that are supported by environmental, social, and economic stakeholders. To learn more, visit www.fsc.org.
Responsible sourcing of wood can benefit construction projects in many ways. Wood is more carbon and energy-efficient in comparison to other building materials, and is used in a variety of products – not just natural timber, and waste products can also be re-purposed. However, wood can also originate from unsustainable sources employing poor forest management practices which can undermine its benefits. This risk can be hugely mitigated by sourcing FSC® certified wood. FSC® is the world’s most trusted sustainable forest management solution that adds environmental, social and economic benefits to construction projects.
WHAT DOES FSC® MANAGED TIMBER MEAN FOR THE SPECIFIER?
The initial key to sustainable timber is good forest management. When you specify FSC® timber, you can be confident that the manufacturer sources responsibly from a well-managed source that complies with the strict criteria that must be met to earn FSC® certification. These are based on ten core principles that cover issues ranging from environmental impact to community relations and workers’ rights to monitoring and assessment processes. An independent organization audits the forest or supply chain to ensure it meets the FSC® standards.

We are PEFC certified (INT-PEFC/COC-002119).
The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) cares for forests globally and locally, working to protect forests by promoting sustainable forest management through certification. This means we can all benefit from the many products that forests provide now while ensuring these forests will be around for generations to come. To learn more, visit www.pefc.org.

We take great care across our product range to source and produce all of our products as responsibly as possible, so you can be confident when specifying our products that they are created using best practices. Here is a brief overview of our systems, and how we support our clients by operating more sustainably across the construction industry.
We work with trusted partners to source our timber and timber-derived products. Some products in this range, including MaxiBeam, SupaSlat and MicroSlat are available as FSC® Certified (see below).
EchoTone which can be used as an acoustic backing to some systems, is a P.E.T. acoustic absorber that is made up of 60% recycled PET material and is 100% recyclable. Please visit our product pages to learn more about their systems and how we work towards providing designers with sustainable solutions.
Our Texture wall panels are produced from original walls with exact natural textures and features. They contain in excess of 50% natural pigments, oxides and minerals. The large panel size achieves coverage quickly and easily. Our technical team produce panel layouts to ensure the most effective use of panels for a smooth installation with minimal waste and reduced cost. As they are less than half the weight of real material, that also means a reduced carbon footprint in shipment to site and no need for mortar mixing or wet trades. The panels are also reusable, contributing to a more circular economy of construction materials.
